Pertamina faces a complex challenge in ensuring national fuel (BBM) availability across its over 170 unique terminals. The old stock control method (Coverage Days) was deemed inaccurate.

To address this, Pertamina developed the Spreading Index, a new comprehensive metric to measure the effectiveness of the supply pattern and security of supply.

To overcome the manual, time-consuming, and error-prone calculation process of the Spreading Index, Pertamina implemented Robotic Process Automation (RPA). RPA automates massive data collection and calculation, significantly improving accuracy and speed.

The implementation of the Spreading Index, supported by RPA, allows Pertamina to effectively monitor and manage distribution equity. This has led to a 4% decrease in inventory value and ensures the smooth delivery of fuel services nationwide.
